Welcome Letter - Pastor Robert D. Johnson

Welcome to the Ann Arbor Free Methodist Church!

We welcome you to a spiritual community where...

  • ...God is loved and lives are changed.
  • ...Scripture is taken seriously.
  • ...Seekers, skeptics and saints are all welcome and loved; struggling people and victorious people; rich and poor; educated and uneducated, because Jesus said, “whoever comes to me I will never drive away.”

July 6, 2008 was my first Sunday here and so I am new to the church as well, though not new to Ann Arbor. My Wife and I grew up around Saline, Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti so we know and love this multi-cultural and philosophically diverse community. We plan to develop our church into a community resource - serving and being available. We desire to serve our community and bless those around us hoping but not expecting them to be open to the love and grace that Jesus Christ offers.

We thank you for stopping by our website and learning a bit about us and we welcome you to join us on a Sunday morning so we can get to know you as well. If you are a follower of Jesus and would like to add your resources (time and finances) to ours so we can be a greater blessing to our community, please join us. If you are not a follower of Christ but would like to see what His love looks like in action, come and visit (though we ask for your forgiveness when we don't always represent Him well - hey, we are human too). And if you are not a follower of Jesus and do not intend to be one, but you find yourself in need, if we can do anything for you we will (no strings attached!).

No matter who you are, or what you have done, or where you have been, you were made in the image of God and still hold the value of that image. The forgiveness of Jesus knows no bound - no one so lost that he can't be found - open your heart and you will see - Jesus loves you and so do we.
